Privacy Policy

Celestic is provided by Botanic Rain FZE, Business Centre, Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Celestic app and website, why, and your choices. Contact: hello@thecelestic.com.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and name, and which sign-in you use (Apple, Google or email code). With Apple “Hide My Email”, we receive a relay address.
• Birth details: name, date, time (if known) and place of birth for you and any family members you add, with the coordinates and time zone of the place. You should add other people’s details only with their permission.
• Chats: your questions to Aura and its answers, your thumbs up/down and the calculated details from your birth data used for each answer.
• Device: a random installation ID, phone platform (iOS/Android), app version, time zone and, if you allow notifications, a push token.
• Purchases: subscription status from Apple or Google through RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs (no chat text), and app usage analytics such as screens opened and features used.

How we use it

• To work out the details of your birth data and give personal answers and daily guidance.
• To run your account, subscription and free answers, and to prevent abuse.
• To keep answers safe and accurate: conversations are reviewed by automated systems (AI) for safety and quality, and our team may read a conversation flagged for safety or reported through feedback.
• To fix problems and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a safe service, and your consent for notifications.

Who processes it for us

Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, database, sign-in, crash reports and analytics, in the USA), Anthropic (the Claude AI models that write Aura’s answers; data is not used to train their models), Resend (sign-in code emails), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo with Apple and Google push services (notifications), and Apple and Google (app stores and payments). Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Your data is stored in the USA; where data moves across borders we rely on appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

• Your account, birth details and chats: while your account exists.
• A chat you delete: hidden from you at once and erased from our systems within 30 days. Chats flagged for safety (for example self-harm or abuse) may be kept up to 12 months for review, then erased.
• Deleting your account erases your account, birth details, family profiles, calculations and chats; backups roll over within 30 days.
• Sign-in codes: 2 days. Error logs: 90 days. Notification records: 180 days.

Your rights and choices

You can see and edit your birth details in the app, switch daily notifications off in Profile or in your phone settings, and delete chats or your whole account (Profile → Delete account, or our deletion page). Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR, California and other US states, and the UAE), you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or object to processing of your data. Email us to exercise them; we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Celestic is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has used Celestic, contact us and we will delete the account.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; sign-in codes are stored only in hashed form; access is limited to systems and people who need it.
